3MTM Particle Respirators 3M pioneered the maintenance free particulate respirator (commonly known as disposable "dust masks").

Comfort, of course, is critical. So 3M has gone far beyond the basic standard requirements.
The product is as comfortable as possible so people not only wear them, but want to wear them. The new 3Mâ„¢ Cool Flowâ„¢ valve is a good example, as is the new 3Mâ„¢ 9300 Series Respirator, which uses a unique 3-panel foldable design for unrivalled comfort, ease of communication and fit.

The particle respirators have color coded features such as straps and valve lettering so that employers can tell at a glance the protection level of the respirator being worn, e.g. FFP1=yellow, FFP2=blue, FFP3=red.

Classification explained

When correctly used by a wearer who has passed a face fit test, an FFP1 respirator should reduce exposure to airborne particles by a factor of 4, an FFP2 by a factor of 10 and an FFP3 by a factor of 20.

Step three: What style?

Choose from:

*     Classic Series. The respirators provide lightweight, effective, comfortable and hygienic respiratory protection against fine dusts and oil and water based mists. The convex shape, twin strap design, foam nose seal and aluminum nose clip ensure a good face seal over a wide range of face sizes.

*       Comfort Series. Comfort is a key issue when it comes to encouraging employees to wear their respirators consistently for long periods. This series sets new benchmarks in wearer comfort!  The Comfort series is available in the advanced three-panel design, which allows for a better communication and a better fit on the face and also fits well with eyewear to reduce the risk of misting.

*       Premium Series. Premium respirators offer enhanced performance and comfort  due to a number of additional advanced features including:

-       Lightweight and off-the-face design;

-       Soft facepiece sealing ring;

-       Exhalation valve to reduce moisture build-up;

-       4-point adjustable straps.

*       Speciality Series. The Speciality Respirators by 3M have been developed for particular working environments. These respirators feature an integrated activated carbon layer thus offering relief from nuisance odors below WEL (Workplace Exposure Limit). They can be used for a wide variety of applications raging from welding to waste sorting. The Speciality range by 3M provides lightweight, effective, comfortable and hygienic respiratory protection against dust and mist. It also provides additional relief from low levels of organic vapors or acid gases such as sulphur dioxide and hydrogen fluoride (depending on the product type).

*       Welding Fume Series. 3M offers two Welding Fume Respirators - the 3M 9925 Welding Respirators and the 3M 9928 Welding Respirator. Both provide lightweight and comfortable respiratory against dust, mist, metal fumes and ozone. The 3M 9928 Model also incorporates a soft face seal.
